Of a new beginning and a new arrival...

I was lately considering to delete this blog due to chronic lack of postings. But somehow I couldn't, on the one hand because it shows part of the way we've come with our old house and on the other hand because of you, readers of this blog, who are still regularly checking back here after two years of complete silence.
Therefore, I decided to give it another try - but as we have not been doing so much in and around the house lately, the topics on this blog will slightly change or rather be extended on things like cooking, preserving, gardening, handicraft etc. But of course I will still be blogging about our renovation and restoration projects.

And here is just a very short update - two major changes have occured in my/our life:

New beginning: I quit my job last year in December, after 8,5 years. I had been unhappy and rather frustrated there for quite a while and for many reasons and then I finally realized that filling an executive position (part-time) and being the mother of a toddler is much more difficult than I admitted. I had the impression to fail at both and drew the consequences. So I started on a small own business which developed quite well so far and offers better opportunities to combine job and family. At the moment, I'm not working for money at all though, because...

New arrival: On September 26th 2011, a sunny autumn day eight weeks ago, our wonderful second son was born. Everything went well and the 1st son is a proud older brother. The big brother, by the way, is going to kindergarten by now, isn't that incredible. Barely born, already a kindergarten-kid today...

I hope to see some of you back at my blog - old and new readers: A warm welcome (back) to all of you!!
